Reclaim Your Sanity, and Confidence with

90-Minute School
Day in the Life

A deschooling support community for parents implementing natural learning at home with their neurodivergent kids.

Where homeschooling parents become one another’s greatest resource.

Why Community?

Learning at home asks us to do something that few people around us understand. To question what we were taught. To trust learning we often can't see. To support children who don't fit traditional expectations. That's hard to do by yourself.
That's why Day in the Life exists.

Day in the Life is your supportive village as a home educating parent of a neurodivergent kid. We are a community of parents who are your safe space for support, friendship, spot coaching, and where we share our gifts and co-regulation with you.

Parents join DITL because alongside their child, they’ve experienced burnout and trauma too. One form of trauma is to not be seen. Here, we see you. We get it. We understand. We lift one another up.

Our unique approach uses what you already have: your family’s individual needs and strengths. We pair trainings, special guests, conversations, supportive community of other parents, and a library of resources to cultivate and support you in your homeschooling.

Most parents join because they’re looking for answers.

They stay because they finally find people who understand the questions they’re carrying.

Every week you’ll sit down with parents who already understand school refusal, burnout, PDA, dyslexia, autism, ADHD, trauma, and all the invisible questions that keep you awake at night.

Sneak peeks into each other’s homeschools as we share regular DITL snapshots into our families’ learning lives.

Opportunities for self-reflection, leadership, mentorship, self-compassion and healing in a safe, judgement-free zone of deep understanding.

Information changes what you know.

Relationships change how you see yourself.

That’s why Day in the Life isn’t like any other community.

Parents don’t come to Day in the Life because they need more information. They come because they need somewhere to keep growing alongside their kids.

90-Minute School Day Training changes how you homeschool.

DITL changes what it feels like to keep homeschooling.

Community is homeschooling as a team sport.

Parents join DITL because they think they need to understand more.

What they really need is to be understood.

One of the hardest parts of homeschooling isn’t homeschooling. It’s wondering if anyone else understands the choices you’re making.

I get it because that’s me too. As a homeschooling parent of neurodiverse kids with developmental trauma, I know how challenging (and rewarding) this path can be. That’s why I created 90MSDITL – to support, share and connect families like yours.

Imagine a homeschooling experience where learning happens naturally, seamlessly woven into your daily life and adventures. School resistance is a thing of the past. This is what we’re all about – reclaiming joy, sanity, confidence, and forging deep connections and relationships with our kids and with each other through natural, self-led learning.

Our community is a place where you’ll find like-minded parents who understand your journey, share your values, and celebrate your unique homeschooling path. Together, we’ll explore, learn, and grow, creating unforgettable memories and lasting friendships.

Homeschooling is an individual sport comprised of individual families. It can be isolating at times when you can’t find ‘your people.’ It’s then our confidence gets shaky and the comparison game can grab the controls.

Community is homeschooling as a team sport. DITL is unified support of every family working toward the same goals of relationship, mental health, wellness and a learning journey as unique as the learners.

We can’t wait to meet you and walk alongside you in this adventure of learning at home with your children.

Warmly,

Kelly Edwards and DITL Community Members

Is This YOU?

You know learning at home is the right choice for your child right now AND you know the school-at-home approach isn’t, but you really don’t know what else to do or how another way might look or work.

You have a neurodivergent learner, a child or teen with special needs, big behaviors, or trauma and need a philosophy that meets each of you where you are and also facilitates learning without adding to your plate.

You’re feeling like you’re a failure more days than you’d like to admit and don’t have someone to turn to who “gets it.”

You’re excited about the potential of homeschooling but have your own hang ups from your own education and feel that you’re not enough and are worried about not doing enough with them.

You compensate for lacking confidence with lots of research but are overwhelmed with decision fatigue with all that is out there on homeschooling.

You are tired of buying curriculum and not using it.

You want your children to self-direct and not rely on you for what to do next.

You are looking forward to homeschooling building stronger connections with your child.

You are inspired and see how lovely homeschooling and self-directed learning is for families on social media but don’t know how to implement that lifestyle in your own home.

You really want to make and grow meaningful friendships with other, like-minded homeschooling parents you can reach out to daily for validation + support.

You don't have to earn your place here by having it all figured out.

Is DITL right for me?

If you already know homeschooling isn't the hard part anymore, but carrying the responsibility alone is...

This is training, resourcing and community for the home educating parent so children being educated from ages 0-adulthood fall into the trainings and discussions.

The 90-Minute School Day approach is crafted with neurodiversity and developmental trauma in mind. That said, neurodiversity is a landscape that includes neurotypical individuals.

To illustrate this, when the American Disability Act paved the way for sidewalk cut outs, the original intention was to grant easier access to the physically disabled.  However, these cut outs are used the most by parents and strollers, the abled and disabled benefitted from this accomodation. Likewise, when we make learning more accessible for neurodiversity, the neurotypical population benefits as well.

Yes, this community is a no-stress, no-pressure zone.  It is a safe space. Our lives and circumstances are fluid with change. Opting-in and opting-out is something we honor. You know what’s best for you and we respect that!

Yes, all prior content is uploaded and available in the resource library!  It’s a smorgasboard of topics for you to explore at your leisure.
